How do I know if a wedding planner is right for me?

If you are having difficulty in coming up with ideas, or where to shop for vendors, and venues, or you just don’t have time then you may want the help of a planner.  Remember a planner is supposed to make the job easier on you by helping you through the process!

Aren’t Planners expensive?

Now, that all depends on what type of service you are looking for… While yes, it is an additional cost to your budget, but it’s a cost that pays for itself!  time is valuable and we do are best to make sure that you are on target with your budget, show you different options, and negotiate for you.  Aside from that, we give you the flexibility to be able to other things… like enjoy your actual engagement and not have to stress out over every detail. 

What do you think separates MBC from the rest?

In Chicago, there are plenty of options for spectacular wedding planners and designers.  What sets us apart is our one-on-one specialized approach and our stylizing abilities for events.  We create a special environment for our client that is based on quality verses quantity to provide the utmost quality in service.

As friends and family, we always want to help, but sometimes that may not be the best solution.  First, wouldn’t you want your friends and family to be able to enjoy the day as much as you?  Second, wouldn’t you want a professional behind the scenes when something does go wrong and your family and friends don’t necessarily know how to troubleshoot? 

Do I really need to book a venue and a planner a whole year in advance?

We always say- the sooner the better! In Chicago, downtown venues tend to book a whole year in advance.  But that doesn’t mean that you are completely out of luck, when you sign on with us, we do a vast scope of searching to make sure that you have ample options.  But time is of the essence! On the MBC side each bride is our center of attention, so dates book up fast!

Do I really need a day of coordinator?

This is one of the most import times where you’ve invested so much time, effort and money… wouldn’t you want to make sure that the day runs smoothly without you having to manage it?  Of course!  We are big advocates of day of coordination because it really makes a difference in your experience.  We formulate your timeline with down to the minute precision and with a professional eye.  Also, our full and partial packages already come with DOC to ensure everything designed is planned… according to plan!

What if I live out of town?

So many times, we’ve planned weddings for couples who either have family in Chicago, but do not actually live in the state!  That’s never an issue, as we are quite sufficient with conference calls, skype session, and emailing information! 

How long has MBC been in business?

Our official date of incorporation is 2006, but our creative director has been in this business since 2000, so we’ve got you covered in the experience section.  If you’d like to talk to other MBC clients as well as vendors/venue list, we would be more than happy to send that information your way!

Will you help us stay on budget?

This is always a key question, as everything about a wedding revolves around the budget.  Yes, our job is to help you stay on budget, and as we always say… A wedding is like building a house, if you choose the expensive faucet; we can always show you alternatives to your selection…

What are the average wedding sizes that you have planned?

We have done as small as a 4 person guest list, to 30 guests, 150, 250, to 600+ guest weddings. 

Do you work by yourself or with a team?

MBC is a team!  Although you may work with our creative director one-on-one, our entire staff is working behind the scenes on your project and we have a specific DOC team devoted to just day of events.
